8 Food Trends and Where You Can Find Them in Cebu

Food Trends in Cebu GoodFoodTrip

I have to thank Facebook for coming up with the “Save Link” feature on its posts. Whenever I come across a new food trends video from TastyEliteDaily, Insider or any other publication, I end up tapping on the feature so I can look at the video at home. So far, I have a ton of videos still pending for me to open. The funny thing is, most of these videos are about cooking and the latest food trends.

Because of these videos, I always get a sense of excitement whenever I spot a local restaurant that offers the dishes I found online. I know there are tons of other food trends out there but I just wanted to share some of the ones I  found here in Cebu.

Food Trends in Cebu #1: Fried Rolled Ice Cream

You know those mesmerizing videos of people making rolled ice cream in front of you? While we only came to know about this trend, it is apparently a popular dessert that can be found in street vendors throughout Thailand.

The dish became a craze when someone took a video of a street vendor preparing the ice cream and uploaded it on Facebook. Because of its popularity, it is now available in other parts of the world; New York included.

Thanks to Sweet Fix, Cebuanos can now experience what the fuss is with rolled ice cream. Catch Sweet Fix’s Rolled Ice Cream at Sugbo Mercado IT Park every Thursday – Saturday evening.
